I certainly tried a lot of them. And in the end they just weren’t sustainable.

And then I finally found a way of eating that worked really well for me for close to 4 years. Trim Healthy Mama helped me lose 40 pounds and keep it off. It’s a very healthy, whole foods based diet.

Then I started a more robust exercise program, and found through trial and error that I was not getting enough protein and carbs and was overdoing the fats.

Working with my own coach (yes, coaches need coaches too), I was able to find what works for me now.

There is no one right way to eat. There is the way that will work for you now. There are basic principles I recommend as we find the best food plan for you:

  1. No sugar or white flour

  2. Protein grams = to your goal weight

  3. Focus on lower glycemic index foods

  4. Lots of vegetables and some fruit

  5. Moderate fat (DON’T go low fat)

  6. Find the foods you love

  7. Enjoy the foods you eat

There is variety and deliciousness within this basic structure. This is the structure we will use to come up with an eating plan that fits your taste, your activity level, and your lifestyle.

Most importantly, this is the framework that will help you lose the weight once and for all.
